About My Multicultural Baby

When my son, Ethan was born in early 2011, I quickly came to the realization that there is a lack of resources available for mothers of multicultural and multilingual children.

My husband is Latino (Mexican-American) and I am Japanese. Therefore our son is Japanese-Mexican-American (aka Asian/Latino). My husband is originally from LA, I am from Tokyo but currently live in a small town in Iowa. We both come from diverse and bilingual background, yet little did we know the triumphs and joys we would face raising a multiracial, multicultural and multilingual child. I'm not going to lie, raising a "multi-everything" baby can be especially difficult when you live in an area where diversity is not prominent as much as LA or New York.

My Multicultural Baby is my outlet for my ramblings about being a mommy for a multicultural child and most of all a special place to share my moments with my family.
